Remember, our fur kiddos can't tell us when they need our help, but they can show us! Keep a close eye on your dog or cat while they spend time outside and look for symptoms of heat exhaustion we discussed in our Heat Stroke, Paw Pad Burns, and Dehydration sections.

It's a good rule of thumb to always abide by three rules when going out on a 90+ degree day: Keep fresh, cool water on hand, find shade when available, and take breaks along your outdoor adventure.
