WHAT IS A TITER TEST?

According to the AVMA, a titer test- also known as an antibody titer- “is a measure of the concentration of antibodies in the blood.”

Many veterinarians believe that some vaccines last longer than the recommended revaccination date. A titer test may help determine if your dog has built up an immunity to the disease after an initial vaccination.

WHAT DOES A TITER TEST INVOLVE?

At our titer clinic, Judi Keller, DVM, of Sunflower Holistic Vet, will draw a small amount of blood that will then be sent to a lab for testing. Results and an explanation will be emailed to you within 4 weeks. The entire appointment will take less than 15 minutes.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR A TITER TEST?

If your dog is friendly, not likely to bite, and has had all initial rounds of required puppy shots, your pet is eligible.
