    High ALP level in blood

My 20 month old dog has been on Rawz Natural Pet food since January 2024. During April annual exam and blood work raised ALP values were found in the blood work. Raised ALP can have many causes, including liver, bone or other conditions. Over the following 4 months we retested multiple times and all tests resulted is high ALP levels. Prescribed Ursodiol and upon further testing still had raised ALP. UF Small Animal Hospital sent blood work out for isoenzyme testing and we discussed “his ALP elevation, which has been persistent over several blood work evaluation, caused by increased cortisol levels”. All home Rx, creams, lotions were sent to UF Small Animal Hospital for review and none were found to have caused the ALP problem. UF Small Animal Hospital suggested changing Rawz Natural Pet Food (dry dog food) to another brand and recheck blood in 3 weeks. Upon change of food and blood recheck ALP is normal. UF Small Animal Hospital suspects that “elevated ALP may have been due to a food-induced hyperadrenocortism” UF Small Animal Hospital recommended “keeping Benny on his current food, as his diet change may have played a role in the resolution of his elevated ALP”. Talked and emailed Rawz lot number shown on bag of food 09/09/2024. They have not gotten to me back regarding this concern.

    Limited ingredient!

My pup is a picky pup and he has his days when this kibble is the best thing or meh. I love how clean it is and that it contains just one protein source. We rotate different protein to pair up with his frozen raw patties :)

RAWZ dry food is Ducky fine!

Button, my three year old male shih does like this flavor of RAWZ dry dog food, which I’m happy to report! He’s very choicy about whatever he eats, but he seems to have taken a liking to this particular flavor, since he likes to eat hard food, every now and then. I do find it necessary to cut it into a smaller-size bite, as this is when he is more likely to eat it.

    My dog loves it

My dog is allergic to a lot of different foods. It is nice to find a dog food with limited ingredients that fits his diet.
