If you are counting on this toy staying a tug toy, do not buy, as it came apart quickly from the attached tug rope. But that's when the real magic began with this ball for my young German Shepherd. After coming loose from the rope, the holes in the ball that attached it made it perfect for throwing in my backyard. The compromised shape keeps it from picking up a lot of velocity and it is almost impossible to accidentally throw over the fence into one of my neighbor's yards (as always happens with the more expensive frisbees she loves.) And there's something about the squishy mouth feel of this ball that she just really adores. She eventually chomped on it so often that I just bought a new one for her to enjoy all over again. The first one lasted six months (at least) whereas the dog frisbees I used to buy her lasted maybe a week before they were shredded into micro-plastics all over my garden.
