Initial use was in hopes of calming some inflammation between my sweet guy's paws, and it definitely got worse before it got better after the first application. That worried me, but ultimately this seems to work well! Continued use is definitely helpful in keeping redness and irritation at bay. The consistency is also easier to work with than Musher's Secret (which would be my main complaint about that comparable product).
